Just got the kit. What's the best way to do this? I should say what's the easiest way of doing this? Thanks!

I've got the same kit and after trying it out in a few places ended up mounting it just aft of the stock radio antenna and running the antenna lead through the rear hatch grommet, around the rear sunroof and using a fiberglass "fish" I pulled it between the roof and airbag, then along the edge of the headliner and the A-pillar, through the dash end caps to the unit mounted on my euroshelf. Did that sound like a lot of work? Well it wasn't, maybe 30 minutes.

I originally had mine mounted on the dash (Velcro mount) just forward of the UV sensor, but I got a lot of signal fade here in the hills of NC. I then fab'd a bracket that fit between the screen and rear sunroof glass. Slick location but I also had a lot of fade.

I know that many have said that the warning about mounting it on an area of at least 6" of metal, is bogus, but for me and my area, mounting it on the roof was the only way to go.

I also removed the rear sunroof interior trim (real easy to pop off and on) and the drivers door weather stripping (the upper part and the rear portion) to help guide the antenna wire.

Good luck and if I can help ................
