Streaming Bluetooth Audio with Ipod/Bluetooth Option?

I have my R58 with Ipod/Bluetooth integrated into the HK System arriving in a about 3 weeks and I've looked for a while and I can't find a definitive answer to "Can you stream BT Audio to the stereo via an Iphone without Mini Connected but with having the Ipod/Bluetooth option?"

I like the classic speedo look on the Mini, it was one of my favorite appearance things about my R53. I just couldn't get over the look of the Mini Connected Speedo.

I had the Dice Mediabridge which allowed me to do it and I loved it. It's nice not having wires unless you need them.

Did I just lose that ability by not going with the Connected?

Sorry if the answer has already been provided in a different thread. I just couldn't find anything black or white through all my searches.

Thanks

No BT audio streaming, at all, Connected or not.

As of 2012's, there's still no factory-solution bluetooth audio streaming in MINIs.

Found this one thread, I remembered researching this a week or so ago.

And maybe there are others.

I like the classic speedometer look as well, and so I passed on MINI Connected with my order. I'm planning on using a Griffin BlueTrip, I have a similar Belkin unit in my Mazda5.

It streams BT audio via the Aux In connector, of course you control the audio source (music, Pandora, Sirius, GPS nav instructions, whatever) from your handheld. Pretty small and self contained.

Thanks for the info.

Rather disappointing in all honesty. The dice unit was about $170 and it was the missing link to really having full integration of your phone in your car. I understand Mini Connected was supposed to be their full integration of your Iphone in the car so I appreciate that there was at least something.

I'll probably just use the y-cable then. The BT unit still involves having to plug something in and cables. Might as well keep my phone charged at the same time.
