NAV Firmware question

Can anyone tell me the latest firmware version? I have a 2007 and I'm curious if there is a firmware update available for my NAV/Audio system. If so, does anyone know the changes? Just curious.

I believe the CCC was last updated with Progman V32. I have a 2007 as well and the only difference I noticed, is a new option when playing MP3 files (Show Details) which reads the ID3 tag of the file. My original 03/2007 version, did not have that feature.
Since BMW has transitioned to CIC, I do not believe there will be any further updates.

The DME (engine) was updated last year in V40 (now called ISTA-P) for the automatic gearbox, but the manual version was updated earlier.

Did you notice any improvement in the functionality or speed of the audio system? I've noticed mine to be quite slow sometimes when I first start the car. Do you think it's worth going to the dealership and having it done?

Not really... But for the slow boot times, it is possible to ask the system to generate a new "boot image" which should speed up boot times. Normally this is done automatically, but I've read that it is something you can redo if the system gets slower over time.

If the dealer does not rob you on this one, then have them do it. The update takes many hours to complete and some dealers charge that as labour!

How do you find the version in the car? Is there a way?

Not through the car itself... You need to use BMW's diagnostic software and connect the computer to the OBD2 port. I use INPA primarily, WinKFP for programming and NCSExpert for coding.
