How to replace a damaged Nav box

We've just bought a 2005 Mini to repair and become our daily driver. It has been in shallow water, with very little of anything hurt, just a little dirty.

The exception to this is the nav controller under the passenger seat. I guess because it's down in a well, it stayed wetter longer than anything else. It's really FUBAR.

SO, the question is, can we get a replacement unit for it, and if so, what kinda programming and such is it going to need before it will play nice with the rest of the system. The mid-dash screen still works, as does the normal radio...well, work as in power on, but they don't do much without the brain box.

Thanks everybody.

A replacement unit would be a direct swap (no programming required). A new one from a MINI dealer is over $2600 according to RealOEM: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...03&hg=65&fg=50. Search eBay for used units. BMW and Range Rover vehicles from that era also used the same units, so you have a wider choice than just MINI. Look for Navigation Mk4 (or MkIV) units.
