Replacing speakers in '05 Cabrio with H/K system
(Crossposted from "Cabrio Talk")
I drank the Kook Aid. I turned the "driver" setting on in the head unit. It drove my rear right speaker and my right front speaker to the breaking point.
I live in downtown Washington DC. I have no garage. Minimal tools. I'm taking it to Best Buy on Friday.
From what I've read, the H/K is the head unit, an amp, the front component 5" something woofers and the front tweeters. The back is not the Coupe's 6x9. It seems to be 6" something round woofers.
I am having Best Buy replace the woofers, one for one. I'm having them replace the front woofers with Kenwood component woofers. No new tweeters. No new crossovers.
What are the back speakers? Woofers? Or two way speakers?

...and the Mini dealer chimed in. Called him to get a price on the
replacement speakers, in case I went that route.
I know him decently. He said they probably were not blown.
There were probably rattles in the back seat. He said to fasten
the rear seats belts together. I also fastened the passenger seat.
Worked.
Totally clear sound, to full blast. Can't believe it.
