Not sure exactly what it's for. I looked it up and I believe it's so I can add another amp to the system. I have the HK system in the car already. Would this be for maybe a sub amp? It's hard wired into the HK amp plug.

Looks like it just takes the signal from the wires driving the speakers and converts the signal to an RCA level signal to feed another amp. Frankly, there are better ways of doing that.

And yea, it could likely drive a sub amp that accecpts full frequency, left and right, line level inputs.

 

Where did you find it at? I can't picture the location in the mini.

Did you buy your car used? What year is your car? I'm anxious to find out if this is included standard in cars with the HK system. That would make things alot easier.
