Has anyone tried the Hella Dynaview lights. TireRack shows them here.

These lights are a bite pricey at $479 for a pair, but they have the neat feature that the headlights point themselves into a turn, much like the legendary 1948 Tucker automobile.

From the description, it appears that the lights are pointed left/right by a small solid-state gyroscope. Wonder if they would mount on a Mini like other driving lights?

Actually, it appears they don't turn, you have to aim them left or right, the system simply turns them on or off depending which way you are turning. Wouldn't this give the appearance of a pair of 'lazy eyes' pointing off into space when not in use

My impression of the description on the TireRack site is that each of the two lamps has two bulbs inside for a total of four bulbs. Of these four, two are lit all the time (one in each lamp/housing). Then, depending on teh output of the yaw rate sensor, one OR the other of the two additional bulbs is turned on in a curve. If the curve is to the left, only the left pointing bulb in the left lamp is turned on in addition to the two standard, straight-ahead bulbs. If the corner is to the right, only the right pointing bulb in the right lamp is added. Thus, teh two driving lamps are always lit (when the lgihts are activated), but one or the other may appear brighter from teh side because of a second bulb being lit.
Not a bad idea IMHO!

So let's defib this old, dead thread.

My Hella 2500's are working fine, and I've shaved them and sealed them so they look better... but I'm thinking about an upgrade sometime....

Then I came across these...

Hmmm... these look like they were MADE for Dragon-like conditions... if you can only have one pair of lights...

Has anyone actually tried these?
