Bad stock HU?

So I have an 06 Cooper S with the stock radio system in it. I thought it sounded pretty horrible, my wifes Mazda 3 sounded way better so I tore apart the car and replaced the front components and tweeters and rear speakers and powered them with an amplifier with all new speaker wires ran to each speaker. My amp is a 4 channel amp that had two high inputs, one for each pair of channels. Front and rear basically. So I just cut the wires coming from out the back of the radio and tied them in to each input, pretty simple. The problem is I have no fade control. If I try to fade to let's say the front left speaker, I still get sound out of the rear speakers, just not quite as loud. I thought maybe my wiring was wrong and even went to mini and had them print directly from their software for my car and everything is right. So I took the radio out and used a voltmeter to test the voltage directly at the pair of pins coming out the back of it for each speaker. Well I would think that if I fade to front left, only the two pins, positive and negative, for the front left speakers should have any voltage. It did it fluctuated but four other pins had voltage as well. One being about half the front left speaker and the other half of that. I believe it was around .3 volts for the front left the. .14 and .07 for the other two. No matter how I try to fade I have this sort of problem. Has anyone heard of this before? Do u think my HU is bad?

Sorry I'm using my phone and I couldn't edit a part I wanted to. Don't take my word on the voltage. I don't remember what I had the meter set on I just know what number was on the voltmeter so you get the idea. And I didn't mention all the other pins did register at 0 so they had no voltage going to them. Thanks for any help.

I'm really not smart when it comes to wiring. I just had my whole stereo re-done and it sounds great. If you need a new HU, I have a factory HU in perfect shape that I will sell you for $50. Please PM me if you're interested.
