Smartphone prep suddenly not recognizing iPhone (3G)
Well after a couple of months of flawless operation with my iPhone, the armrest smartphone prep stopped recognizing my iPhone--for music. It still charges, the phone still works etc. but it doesn't recognize the iPod aspect of the phone. If I plug the phone into the USB/rca plugs it recognizes it and plays great, just not through the armrest unit. ANyone else having this problem? Oh I also checked it with another iPhone and it doesn't recognize that one either...so I'm pretty sure it's the armrest unit (or software etc) not the phones...
Three things come to mind.
1. Armrest insert needs to be taken out an reinserted. Clean contacts while it is out.
2. Loose connection in the wiring harness at the armrest or at the ULF Module (ULF module is the one that runs the bluetoorh and the USB)
3. Bad ULF module.
# 1 should be easy to check and then #2 and #3 may need the dealer.

Yeah I unplugged and re-plugged the iPhone module several times...no joy! I'll take a look at the wiring when I get a chance...I HATE taking a car in to the dealer for stuff like this....
