Mounting plate question

Does anyone know if the navi mounting plate that goes under the passenger seat will also work under the drivers seat? I just had everything apart this weekend and noticed that there were 4 holes under the drivers seat in what appeared to be the same relative place to what is under the passenger seat to mount the navigation plate. I'm guessing that they are used to mount the navi unit on right hand drive cars, but I'm not quite sure (for some silly reason I didn't try to put the navi plate on the drivers side when I had it all apart). Also, I'm not sure if the plate is different on right hand and left hand drive cars.

What I would like to do is purchase another plate so I could mount an amp under my drivers seat. I'm sure I could make something else work, but it would be nice to have something that looked "factory". Unfortunately the amp I want to get (JL Audio XD600/6) doesn't seem like it would easily fit in one of the boot side panels, at least not without blocking access to the rear break/turn signal lights. So this seems like the next logical choice...
