Navigation & Audio Dash kit ordered!! double din !!
So have you really done your homework yet?
This receiver will not fit in the car without moving the OEM head unit. The OEM headunit MUST stay in the car. It caries with it the OBC and all the display functions run off of it. Metra states they are working on a repalcement box but have not put it out yet. Also depending on the depth of the Kenwood DMX9960 it may not fit at all. At 7.13 inches it may bet to long front to back to fit. I do not have the actual measurement anymore but if my memory serves me correctly there is only 6.8 inches of depth there.
There are kits from Japan that have special cables that allow the OEM head unit to be moved to the secrect compartment. And this at this time is the only way to do it as far as I know. At last check it would be about $700 to get one here. $400 for the kit plus aobut $300 in shipping charges.
Good Luck but be warned this is not something that can be done easily.
Here are some threads to check out.
This one shows the head unit/speedo combination out of the car.

gshadow325 - I'll be axiously awaiting results from your job. I've been researching putting a different headunit in my Mini for weeks. But unlike you, I'm not as experienced and I can't do it myself. And I've had the fear of god instilled in me about going to an audio installer to have them do it. Please keep us in the loop.
I wasn't aware of any successful remote starter installations....I've seen some directions (which I'll post) but please share more info.

A lot of the Security stuff gets talked avount over in the Modification>Electrical section but adding it here would be a good place IMHO, but i do not make the decissions.
