Mission control kit installation on R56S?

Can anyone has more info on mission control kit installation?

Dealer here sells 65-41-2-154-719 kit, however, they are not interested in helping me installing the kit. I also have a pdf file containing circuit diagram someone in this forum posted earlier but it does not say much.

Also, what is the difference between part# 65-90-2-159-967 and 65-41-2-154-719?

I'll appreciate any help.

The installation looks easy enough. Just plug it into what seems to be the CD changer connector, and installation time is listed at 0.1 hours (6 minutes!). However isn't dealer programming required?

I'm also surprised that the dealership is not interested in helping you out with the installation.

I would have thought that they would have offered to install and charged you 30 minutes - hour. If you were determined to do it yourself...they still make markup on selling the unit to you...and get your business back for more. You probably could have ordered in form Morristown Mini and even paid less.

In the end you will probably have to have them program the computer to use it...which will be more guaranteed bucks for them also...

depends on where the OP is from. I have heard reports that dealers in Aisa are not willing to do add-ons like in the US. Not sure why but I have heard that from at least 3 other people.

But I just don't understand why someone would want to have the car interupt the music and tell me something stupid.

Beside programming, the cable for mission control unit looks different with the cable for CD changer/Ipod kit.

According to the document, plug x9270 in the storage compartment should connect to Mission Control unit. However, vehicle with CD changer preparation has only CD changer plug.

Do I need completely different wiring?
