Navigation & Audio Mounting iPad in a MINI
I imagine over time there will be more options, but with the iPad so new, there isn't much out there yet. There is one in the works that looks interesting:

ProClip USA has mounting solutions as well. I believe they're available now. I'm also in the midst of setting something up with the iPad in-car.
For what it's worth, if you're looking for a small keyboard to use to make typing easier while it's mounted (for the passenger of course
, the PS3 keypad works pretty well.. Tab-key and arrow keys included. Hides nicely in the cubby behind the cupholders too =)

I chose not to get my new MINI with Nav, since I have an iPad and the Motion XDrive HD is such a consistently good app. I've tested it on several trips against my car nav. Easier to enter data, easier to follow. The compromises, of course, are mounting and glare. The iPad's face will catch more glare than a factory nav, so you have to be judicious. I currently have it between the seats, sort of tucked onto the e-brake, and at an angle. Works perfect. But then again, for me, it's not intended to live there. I don't use nav daily. It's for when I'm on a trip or going to a job site, etc. More important to HEAR it than see it, by far, for safety and efficiency...
I was thinking of rigging up my own holder out of posable art-clip stand and a weight for sinking into the cup holder, but I'll check a few of these links out again and see if there are any good ideas...

Well, I used an aircraft RAM mount in a MINI for a while but it was not practical because you need to drill holes and use structural screws. Also iPad is too heavy for suction cup. Balancing it inside cup holder with heavy weight was not successful either.

You can contact Jennifer at her site. I think she has had an iPad attachment in her MINI for months now.

Alas, Mine is not mounted. I have it plugged into the iPod y-connector and just leaned it up against the center console. Im sure it would not work well for spirited driving with twisty turns, but worked well on a highway drive. I don't need a mount since I don't use it in the MINI that often.
Aluvendale, thanks for your response.
Jbourne, I'm wondering if the the brackets are marketed due to laws about drivers not being able to view video monitors while driving. Also, I will search when I have time. Good luck!

Any updates, installs? There's no way to cleanly mount an iPad in the Mini I would think, but am interested in how people have done it.
