Has anyone purchased the latest 2010 Nav Map from the MINI Navigation Map Update site:

What changes to the map's display have you noticed? Are the colors the same (too much black)? I really do not like the "night mode" look of the present nav map. I was hoping it would be similar to the first generation maps with lighter colors. Thanks.

 

Yes, I purchased one from there. I shipped Friday. I expect it to arrive today.

The color scheme seems to be similar with the black background. I like this because a white background would light up the cabin too much at night.

Haven't tried navigating anywhere with it yet, but the map has a few features my 2007 DVD didn't have. There are now a couple more view options. One of the icons at the top right is the rear of a MINI. It gives you a perspective view of the map as though you were chasing the car in a low flying helicopter.

I haven't investigated much more of it.

 

My 07 Cooper S still has the original DVD, and the perspective view has been there all along. Maybe you just never noticed it before?
