Latest Cell Phone that will pair with my mini

I have Verizon as a cell phone service provider, and they tell me that all the new phones are not listed on this site or the Mini site. My Verizon Vx9100 paired just fine with my Clubman but they replaced the DVD and it no longer pairs. I can upgrade to a new phone, but no one from MINI can tell me which phones will work with it. Any information would be helpful.

There's the Bluetooth thread in the Nav & Audio section and I keep a Google spreadsheet of all the reports I can find across a variety of MINI forums. Both are linked in my sig.

Have you tried removing both connections (car from the phone and phone from car) and doing a hard reboot on the phone (removing the battery) and trying to pair again?

Yes, I have seen your spreadsheet. Thank you very much for all that work, Nick. The salesperson at Verizon said that your list does not have the latest phones available. I have tried everything except taking the battery out of the phone, so I will try that now. Thanks again. L

My wife has a new Droid and I have a Blackberry Storm, both with Verizon, both paired with no problems with our new 2010 JCW Clubman, with no NAV.

Yeah- I know it's not perfect, I wish that I could just stop in and try everything out every couple of months, but they know I'm not buying them... Unfortunately, they cycle them our pretty quickly unless it's a phone that has a lot of marketing behind it.

Most of the smart phones work- everything Blackberry that's available, as Bill said the Droid is good, any of the HTC phones that run Windows Mobile 6.1 should work, along with the Palm Pre.

For multimedia phones, the Samsung Alias 2 is known to work as is the LG enV Touch.

Nearly all of the phones they call a simple feature phone are pretty new- I haven't seen reports of anyone trying any of them, so the only way to know would be to try one out and see.

In general Samsung and LG phones have been hit-or-miss, Motorola has been better recently but there's still the occasional problem phone, so make sure to test those before committing to one- Verizon stores usually will allow an exchange within 30 days.
