Question about JL Cleansweep CL441dsp

Assuming that I keep my Boost head unit in my MCS , but add in a 4 ch amp and a 1 ch sub amp, will the
"Dash-mountable volume **** and source selector" that is included with Cleansweep, allow me to adjust the sub?

Thanks

JSO123, I can answer all your question about the JL clean sweap and let you know what you will need to have sub volume adjustment because I had one I installed in my 05 MCS with a Dice Ipod interface to the CD changer.

I also have all of this for sale if you want to PM me and we can talk and if you want mine you can make me an offer for it. I have everything including the Origional box, Manuals, Cables (remote **** and LED)and JL Calibration CD. This unit is only about 6 months old and I will toss in the Audio Quest Sidewinder RCA's and RCA spliter. Look at the cost of these puppies but they do make a difference in your audio set up when you are adding nice amps.

You will also need the RCA splitter below for your Sub amp. More on teh splitter below.

Recently I removed my factory HU, Dice Unit and put in an Alpine iDA-X305
wich has 3 pairs of RCA outputs. (F,R,S) with ipod intergration. Hence I do not need the CleanSweep or Dice unit anylonger.

Now back to the topic of the JL CleanSweap. The remote **** is not a sub volume adjustment it is a complete system volume **** that you can also tap / push in and switch sources. (Radio HU to Aux) and LED lets you know what souce you selected. (Only 2) When you calibrate the JLCS with the provided CD you just set your HU at about 1/2 or 3/4 volume and play the calibration CD track 1 and it auto calibrates itself.

I did not use the AUX feature of the JLCS because when you use the AUX imput the CS does not use the DSP (Digital Sound Processor) feature that you calibrated the HU signal to use. (Silly design flaw IMO)
It just uses the signal from whatever you pluged into the AUX feed and send it straight to the amps with no DSP EQ Correction which is just plain silly to do. Also that was the main reason I used the Dice unit through the HU to the JLCS. If the siganl comes from the HU it gets corrected using the DSP of the JLCS.

Now you can use the JL source volume contol **** for complete system volume or set it to MAX and hide it beside the JLCS and just use you radio to control everything. Yes you can even use you stearing wheel control without any special programming or adapters. I had the Dice unit hooked up to my CD Changer controls and interfaced with it using the Stock HU or Stearing Wheel controls. It looked stock and worked awesome. I hid everything and the iPod text displayed on the HU (Artist and song title) The whole system looked was very stealth. *Note* You have to use an RCA spliter on the rear RCA signal comming out if the JLCS to feed your seperate sub amp. The sub amp you choose should be a Mono block type. Most of these type of amps come with/ include a remote volume control **** that plugs into the amp using a phone line type connecter and that is how you can increase or decrease you sub volume.

I have my sub volume **** for my JL HD 900 mounted beside the center e-brake handle and the passengers seat. (The only person that can see it is me)

I hope this helps explain the JL CleanSweep and you can find more info on the JL site or PM me.

Thanks for all the info. It answers pretty much all of my questions. Unfortunately, I'm trying to put together a sound system via the craigslist and ebay bargain basement route.
I think that I can get a functional Cleansweep for around $110. That's probably a lot less than you want to sell yours for. However, on the outside chance you do , please send me a OM

Thanks again!

Well I will go $150.00 if you want it. Everything including RCA's and RCA splitter. I just dont need it and I would be glad to help out a fellow MINI fan.
