H/K with subwoofer?

I will soon be purchasing a mini with a H/K audio system in it. I was wondering if anyone successfully wired a subwoofer to the Amp used on the H/K system or if anyone has upgraded the amp to make it work or what. I am very curious as to how this could work. Like I said I haven't purchased the mini yet but I will be soon and I wanna make this think sound as good as possible without spending too much cash while working off of the H/K system. Any info would be great. thanks

It's been done; picking off speaker level signals from the rear speakers seems to be the simplest way, if not the best

Could you explain what you mean by picking off speaker level signals? Does that mean plug it into the rear speaker hook ups on the amp itself? Thanks
