Need help with Mini Hands Free System
A few years back I installed the Mini Hands Free Kit 84 11 0 302 897 in my wife's 2005 Cooper Cabrio. It paired up with the phone she had back then and worked fine, until she got a Sony Ericsson TM506. The problem is it only half works. I can pair the phone to the system, it will voice dial, but the phone does not play through the speakers, I have to hold the phone to talk. I thought all bluetooth was created equal, guess not. My iphone pairs up and works fine with the her system. I found the list of the latest "approved" phones at the wireless4mini.com site, but what makes the bluetooth in the approved phones different from the others? Am I missing something in the set-up of the Sony Ericsson?
Customer service at Sony Ericsson is most likely to be able to assist you with this. If your phone isn't listed as compatible, it probably can't be made to work if it doesn't already. Different bluetooth devices will use different frequencies for different features.
Just sent an e-mail to customer service. The firmware for the phone hasn't been updated since buying it. I'll wait for their reply before trying that.
