iPod adapter questions

What are the current OEM options for getting iPod functionality in an R50? Specifically, for someone with:

- Sirius antenna
- Bluetooth phone

The OEM iPod adapter # 65 11 0 392 139 doesn't support either of the above options, but I remember there was an official fix for using it w/ Sirius. It's also quite old (circa 2004) - did they ever make the updated kit available for R50/R53?

Is there a new adapter part # for iPhones? I understand there is a charging issue using an iPhone with the old iPod adapter.

If these questions have been answered before elsewhere please point me to the thread(s), and consolidate this post. Thanks!

So I spoke to a parts guy and he said that:

- the OEM iPod adapter is still not compatible with handsfree phone
- the adapter has not been updated (does not have the same functionality as the R56 adapter)
- none of the adapters will charge the iPhone 3G

Assuming this is all true, my last question is - has MINI updated, or is planning on updating, the docks for the handsfree kit to support iPhones? I saw someone had rigged it in the armrest on this forum (but it was a hack).

Thanks everyone

I use a little add-on from Scosche to my iPod connector for R53.

http://www.amazon.com/Scosche-passPO.../dp/B001HN6CVA

It charges my iPhone 3GS and allows me to play the music. As for bluetooth, I just bought a Motorola T505 bluetooth speaker. It allows me to stream Pandora and Slacker radio to the deck. Not the greatest options, but very inexpensive.

The controls are ok. You can only choose playlist (5 max) and song change within that playlist. The random button works, that is about it. You do not get to choose albums or artist, etc.. The time to change from song to song is quick.

But my car came with the ipod connection , so I wasn't complaining too much about it.
