Possible blown H/K speaker

Hi All,

I've done some homework on this topic and my driver's side speaker may not be blown (may just be loose, or may require some felt to dampen buzzing). I'll know for certain when I take off the trim.

If the speaker is blown, I'm looking for some recommendations for replacement. As the title of this thread says, I have the Harmon Kardon upgrade.

Thanks in advance for your advice/guidance.

Erick

If it's truely blown, best bet (if you were ok with HK sound) is to get a replacement OEM from someone who has replaced/upgraded. I'm no audiophile, but apparently the HK speakers are a non-standard impedance (2 vs. 4 ohms?? )

Thanks Eric. I was leaning in that direction, but thought I'd check.

Have a great one

All,

It's looking more and more like I may have blown the lower front H/K speakers in my '04. I will be pulling the door panels out to verify, but the sound, to me anyway, has that unmistakable warble of a blown speaker (especially prevalent in a range of bass frequencies). I will try to secure them better per other posts, but if they are blown, and need to be replaced, it seems like the overriding advice on NAM is to keep with OEM H/K speakers. So, for anyone with an '04 who has decided to replace the stock amp/speakers, I may be interested in buying your stock speakers. Please PM me with asking price.

Thanks,
Erick
