Can you keep the Stopwatch running when you stop

I want to know if anyone has found any tricks to keep the stopwatch running when the car is off. Why?? I like to go walking/running and usually use a watch but it would be nice to hit start on the MINI's stopwatch and then when I get back and start the car, see how long it has been.

Now when I start it and get back, it starts running again automatically but is missing the time when the car is off.

I figure there is not a way, but thought I would toss it out there.

The stop watch in the BMW'S/MINI'S is more of a run timer than a stop watch. It is there to tell you how long the car has been running for when you are on a trip.

It is controlled by the computer and without major reprogramming of the cars systems it can not be changed.
