MINI Hi-Fi with Infinity Kappa's

I just installed 6.5 inch infinity kappas in my Mini HiFi system leaving the amp and head unit as stock. This sounds like a dumb question, but the 6.5inch kappa's are two ways, yet it doesn't sound like any highs are coming out of them, only lows...is this because there is a cross-over built into the factory amp that splits the front tweeters, 4inches and 6.5inches, or does it have something to do with the attached Kappa crossover that has cutout the tweeters somehow or has been incorrectly hooked up by me?

I guess I was thinking somehow that the 6.5inch speakers would have something coming out of the tweeter...is this incorrect?

Also, on the rear 6x9's I've read some different threads stating that there are separate wires going to the tweeter and woofer in the rear? is this correct, if so how does this work with the Kappas since there is only one place to hook them up?

please forgive me if this has been answered somewhere, and thanks for your help!

If you got the Infinity Kappa 60.7cs 6-1/2" they are not two-way, they are component speakers. Did you buy a different model? The tweeters go in the A-pillars for the windshield.

I assumed that the HIFI system was filtering out the highs to the 6.5 speaker location. So I didn't use the crossovers. This was just an assumption; I don't really know if they get full range, or not.

Not sure what you mean. The tweeter wires are in the A-pillar.

What's the model number of the Kappas?

The HiFi amp does have Filtered Channels. So yes the 6.5" driver in the from doors has a cut off that reduces the highs significantly.

Yes the rears have a seperate tweeter and it is on its own channel.

Here are the specs and how they connnect.

HiFi System:
8 channels
10 loudspeakers
• 2 treble loudspeakers in front, 26 mm [~1 inch]
• 2 mid-range loudspeakers in front, 100 mm [~4 inch]
• 2 bass loudspeakers in front, 150 mm [~6 inch]
• 2 bass loudspeakers in rear, 6 x 9"
• 2 treble loudspeakers in rear, 26 mm [~1 inch]
Bandwidth: 40 Hz to 20,000 Hz
Max. acoustic pressure 104 dB
Amplifier power:
•2 x 40 W (2 Ohm) Bass
•6 x 25 W (2 Ohm)

1" Tweeters in pillars and 4" Mids in door connect to Left and Right Channel #1

6.5" In door connect to Left and Right Channel #2

6x9's in rear connect to Left and Right Channel #3

1" Tweeter in rear connects to Left and Right Channel #4

So as can bee seen here the there are 4 left channels and 4 right channels for a total of 8 channels as listed above.
