SIRIUS/XM aftermarket help?

I did a search and follow the instructions on how to run my sirius sportster 4 antenna hookup using this:
http://www.cdint.com/catalog/model/SB9SBJ-174-5

This way I could use the car antenna...

My mini is an 07 "S", it has the lounge leather option.

However, I checked under the passenger seat and I don't see the cabling box that has the wiring for SAT radio hook ups nor to I see the anntena connection. It can't be under the carpet because it's flat, so it's not covered. And under my seat doesn't look like the pic's posted on NAM guide here:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...e-antenna.html

Is it because I don't have regular seats? I don't understand why I don't have the box with the hook ups?

Any ideas or am I missing something.

I believe some early 07's did not come with all the wiring if the car was not ordered with the SAT system. That may be your problem.

From the parts diagrams there is also two type of antenna pods for the 07 models one that has SAT and NAV antennas built in and one that does not. So there may not even be SAT antenna in the car.

From 08 on they all come with the same antenna pod that has all the antennas needed for any configuration.

Thanks,
That pretty much sums it up. I should have looked before I sent for that cable.....

Mine had no 'box' under the seat and the Satellite Antenna was buried in a styrofoam block (where the Sirius Receiver would install) and the carpet was flat.

Caution if you remove the passenger seat; if you disconnect the plug into seat bottom (black latched) and turn ignition on, it will cause an Airbag Warning that only Dealer can reset.

Most disconnect battery cable first, but hiding key/fob will do.

Your Satellite Antenna has a pink 'Fakra' plastic plug and will be taped to the connectors for the Sirius Receiver.

This thread shows detailed photographs of what the MINI without the black plastic/metal underseat box antenna rig looks like:

I was able to hook and snake out the cable initally through hole of right front seat bolt and back to seat cable hole without removing carpet.

What Schatzy62 wrote about early '07's may be true in your case, but lack of an underseat box would mean that you don't have DTC as that is what the underseat box was used for.

Anyway of me knowing without taking the seat out and looking under the carpet? I would hate to do all that and not find what I need!

I would pull the seat, just four T-40 Torx bolts and remember the caution about no ignition (hide the key/fob) while seat cord plug is disconnected.

You could just open the slit a little that the seat cable comes through, (back and towards the side) then use a hook made from a coat hanger to pull the cable to the slit.
