Well it's finally fixed. RTTI issue

So my RTTI never worked. From day 1, but I was working in LA at the time and didn't have time to take it in. about 8months after i took delivery I had some time off so I took it in to the dealer. They discovered that the VO wasn't programmed correctly. So they reprogrammed it but it still didn't work. Thus a PuMA case was opened. The response was replace the unit, which was then replaced but it still didn't fix the issue.

the issue was that when RTTI is selected it just gives the following error message: Currently, no reception.

well after the navi unit was replaced and still didn't work next instruction from PuMa was to replace the BMW dvd with a MINI DVD (my old navi had the dvd in the unit when they replaced it and they used a BMW dvd to test it). As expected that didn't change things.

Fast forward to two weeks ago, I take it in for the annual oil change and also tell them the RTTI is still not working. First week they got approval from MINI to tear into the car :( Then they discovered that potentially something was missing from the factory. Thus they ordered all of the parts that were needed for the navigation system to work properly. such things as spliters, wiring, etc. When everything was said and done they discovered there were 2 wiring harness missing.

I got the call tonight and it's working fine now after the two wiring harnesses were replaced.

So while it took a while MINI came through and got it fixed. I was also given a clubman to drive while the car was in the shop so kudos to the dealer! The dealer was Eastbay Mini. I hope this helps someone who maybe having a similar issue.

Sometimes abbreviations can confuse people. i have no idea what these are. And I am sure a lot of others don't either.

Real time traffic information
VO is I believe vehicle option? when you order an accessory such as navigation the cars computer needs to know that it is installed. MINI and BMW lets the computer know by the VO code.
