Had to buy a new key

Well it finally happened. I lost the most expensive car key I've every owned. I think I lost it at the beach the day before we were dumped on by a foot of snow. So between the tides, the sand, the plow trucks, the snow, and the fact that I don't know exactly where I parked or where it might have fallen out of my pocket, I think it's safe to say that it's gone.

So a new comfort access key costs about $340. However, I really only needed a basic vanilla key with no remote to use as a spare since I still have the other CA key. That ended up costing about $40 for the key and $43 for the holder, plus shipping. Still kind of pricey.

Anyway, I'm still hoping I'll find my original key somewhere around my house or town. It'll be a while before I can search the beach though... we're getting another 8" tomorrow and we still have many weeks left of winter.

Totally meant to post this in the Clubman forum. No wonder I lost my key... I can't even keep track of what forum I'm posting in.

Tim,

Good Luck at finding the key, hopefully it is around the house somewhere rather than at the beach.

Thanks for the info about the price of a key, WOW those are expensive. I thought the $240.00 i paid for our BMW key was bad enough but $340 that is crazy.

BTW did you check the Puppy to see if she/he (i forget the gender) has taken it. I know the puppy likes to go for rides maybe as it gets to be teenager it wants to take the car for a ride all by itself. I know i did as a teenager.

Yes, we looked around the house thinking maybe she put it somewhere, but she usually leaves her treasures right in the middle of the floor for us to see.
