Navigation & Audio Help Please (Door Speaker Wires)
Help Please (Door Speaker Wires)
Wow - this is an amazingly complicated procedure LOL
You need the door completely open to unscrew the bolt that holds the rubber boot/connector, then you need to partially shut the door to pull the connector far enough out to release the connector lock.
That is where I am at now.
I know there is another large rubber boot/grommet on the inside that I have successfully pulled out, but can't figure how to put back in. (Help on this too please) Maybe something in the interior needs removed to get better leverage/access.
My main problem right now is - how do I get the wires down the accordian boot? I got my clothes hanger through, but the wire won't go through. It is packed to the brim with wires. I am only running one pair of 16 gauge also.
Once I get the wire into the car (if I ever do HA HA) what do you do at the large rubber boot on the inside? Cut a hole?
All tips and tricks would be appreciated!
Can't believe how tight everything is in there.

Before pulling out the old speaker wires to make room for the new ones, spiral wrap the old and new then use electrical tape to hold them together. The idea is to use the old wire to pull the new through and into place. You can't tie a knot because that won't go through the conduit, so wraping and taping the wires allows for enough clearance.
It took me a lot of time to replace the rubber boots on both sides of the door jam. Just be patient and keep at it. Take off the driver's side knee plate, if you haven't already.
