Getting C pillars off on a 2008 Justa-Cooper
I met with Robin last weekend in Carmel Valley to get some pointers from him, and asked him about removing my C pillars. He removed the beauty cover and retaining bolt from the left C pillar, and pulled at the cover, but it didn't come off. Being someone else's car, I'm sure he was hesitant to yank it, and we both agreed I could do it at home.
I haven't tried yanking it yet, but I did notice that his C pillars ( 2007 S ) looked skinnier than mine, And I wondered if they both mounted the same way, with two Xmas tree retainers towards the center of the panel ( and the retaining bolt behind the beauty cover of course )?
I told Robin I was a bit nervous that there was an airbag behind, and supported by the C pillar cover.
Is it indeed OK to get my fingers under the sides and yank till it comes off?
Thanx

from the restraint system parts diagram it looks as if the air bag runs along the roofline just above the windows under the headliner. It does look as if it may run part way down the c pillar but it is very hard to tell from the parts diagram picture.
There is also one inside each front seat.
