OK, while back, I had a navigation system installed with new speakers, they told me that they would just leave the tweeters in there.

The other day, I wanted to fix the rattling on my door and when I opened it up, the tweeters were gone. It turns out the place I got it installed went out of business, figures. Is there any way I can get it back without too much trouble?

Are the "braces" that hold the tweeters still in the door? If so, I'll gladly donate my stock tweeters to your cause, free of charge. When I replaced mine, I re-used the braces so I'm afraid I can't give you those.

PM me if interested.

Did you mean to say that in your case-
You replaced the front door midrange component speakers with full range or coaxial speakers of the same or larger size and so you didn't need the tweeters in the front doors but you asked for them to be left in anyway. In this case you would not expect the tweeter sound to work so you were surprised to find the tweeters missing.

Now you open the door panel to discover they lied or misunderstood your directions. Not good. Hopefully you can get some replacements from one of us. Did you want to hook up the tweeters again with a cross over? The stock tweeter has a rudimentary cross over attached to the speaker itself.

Makes you wonder what goes on out there. Sorry to hear about this.
Good luck.

Thanks scooterboy, I PMed you.

minihune - After the installation, I requested that ALL the original speakers be given back. The installer told me he left the tweeters in there, so I was like, OK thanks, since I didn't know anything about speakers or taking out the panel to check myself. I also asked before I left, "This is everything, right? nothing missing?" They said yes and gave me a box with all the original speakers.

I've heard bad things about that place and that's probably why it went out of business. i went there only because it was the cheapest offer. I guess I learned that the cheapest isn't always the best way to go. Oh well...
