I am currently working with a company that is working on one for the clubman and it has already been 30 days and we are just finishing up a box design that will work and be easily removable and function properly.

There are also many other factors besides the "Box" design to consider.

1. What is going to rattle when the box is in place
2. What panels int he car are above the box if it is in a place like the boot floor.
3. What options does it need to have, Built in amp shelf, connector locations, false floor or openings, sealed box or vented box.
4. How is it going to mount in the car.
5. Does it impead the use of any other part of the car. I.E. spare tire area if used. ( know i use the spare tire space for other things as it is a great storage space but how do you make it so that space is still usable)

These are only a few of the considerations that must be made if you are making somthing for production and genreal market purchase.
ok, so lets add another hour to the project.. Please!!

So why do you not spend the now 2 hours and start selling them. From your perspective you could be a Millionaire with in two weeks.

So i ask "What it stopping you?" The fact that it is really harder than you think or wish to admit to.

I have the RoasterSound R53 enclosure, it will need to be modified just slightly to work. I will need to modify or make a new false floor cover to make it work. It fits just fine in the false floor and the earthquake sub works well also. I will post some pictures once I am done.

Can you explain what needs to be changed for it to fit? They emailed me yesterday and said it would fit, I have their enclosure in my M roiadster and like the quality.

Were you able to get it in black, like the r56 carpet?

Thanks.

The enclosure fits in the false floor. The quality is excellent. The instructions are well done. If Kevin says it fits then I would believe it fits, I heard he was making some very small changes to make it fit even better than it did before. The earthquake subwoofer has nice sound, I would add some polyfill to to the enclosure to help with standing waves.

Let me also chime in and say if Kevin says he has a product that will work for you he does ! When I converted my r-53 to our sequential shifter system the box for the solenoids necessitated be pulling out of my former system and going with a low profile arrangement. Kevin worked with me on converting one of his boxes for my one off setup and he came thru big time . The box is very well designed and built and I would not hesitate in going with him again on future projects.

Here is what we ended up with . Rockford Fosgate 400 amp 4 channel and a 12" low profile Earthquake. Granted it isn't quite as good as my Diamond Audio system but it weighs and costs about 25% of the old setup.

Bumping this up, just about four weeks now. I was unable to get any response from JL on this product. The Roadster Sound solution is looking more and more likely for me...

PLAN B ALSO

My last email was not answered by Jl Audio also. $295.00 for a place to put a Jl sub and an Alpine PDX5 amp. is am option. Jl or Focal speakers for the other speakers and then I start adding up the dollars and wonder about a sub and add tweeters to basic system? I might go tweeters and sub. first and add other speakers if I do not like what I hear. Has anybody tried this?

I installed the Roadster Sound subenclosure with the Earthquake SWS-12 sub powered by an Alpine MRD-500 mono amp. Sounds absolutely terrific and looks great too. Nice and flush, isn't an eye sore! I need to finish my complete writeup

Did you have to modify it to fit the R56?

We sell the RoadsterSound sub box. It does NOT need to be modified for the R56.

Grill off...

So the only difference is the type of grill you get depending upon which gen you have?

Yup, no modification required. Direct fit. Sounds awesome.

I have one recommendation: the routing of the power lead from battery compartment to rear boot requires the removal of the rear interior side panels. So while you're at it, remove both rear side panels and replace your 6x9 units and finish with a completely new rear sound stage!

I put it Focal 690 drivers and.....WOW.

Will that fit the MC as well or just the MCS? I'm not sure how the donut under the car may affect the interior room under the sub/amp - judging from their site it should fit

There is no difference in space between a MC or MCS in the boot. I replaced my runflats and have a spare, so I built a false floor and attached the RoadsterSound enlosure to it, so I can get access to the spare. I now just need to make a strut system or something to hold the falsefloor/enclosure up to I can access the spare since it is a bit heavy.

Can you please post some pictures of that? The spare I mean.

Confused here: you have a Clubman in you sig and mention a spare in the trunk. The Clubman trunk is bigger than an MC/MCS, yes?

The SB holds two woofers and two amps.. Two HD amps. will be expensive. One is expensive. Roadster is looking better .

JL Mini Sub box

Not bad, but I'm not too keen on the white bars.

I wonder what it cost? Any idea what size the woofers are? I would guess about 8" each.
