Driver side speakers stopped working

I just noticed that I'm not getting any sound out of the driver side speakers (front & back). I'm hoping maybe it's just a loose wire. Would I check the head unit or the amp?

Another problem I've had is all of the sudden the volume **** (and steering wheel buttons) will stop working. Turning the car off and then back on seems to fix the problem. Any suggestions on what's wrong?

I have an 06 MCS with H/K. I've added the Parrot Bluetooth and XMDirect.

Thanks.

Hmm....I would check out all of your connections and make sure there is not a short anywhere, then report back and tell us what's up. Hopefully it is that easy

Where do I check this? Is the connection at the head unit or at the amp? Sorry!

I would take off the door panels and check the wiring on the speaker connections themselves. After this if you cannot find anything I would pull the head unit and look at the amp: check the wiring harness for anything like cuts, creases, etc...

let me know if you need anymore help...and if you are having a hard time removing the door panel...there are three screws, two are obvious and visible. They are in the "arm-rest/"oh-$***" bar. The third is hidden under the circular clear/white reflector on the top corner of the door. After this just pop it off carefully because there are these lovely plastic "nails" that hold our interior together

Thanks for the help!

Since I had a service appointment scheduled for this past weekend, I mentioned the problem to the service advisor. It ended up being a problem with the head unit and it was replaced under warranty. Too bad they couldn't replace the radio with the same radio I had in my 06, apparently they aren't available anymore.

Arent all US car manufacturers required to have replacement parts available for the first 5 years? Plus, what radio head unit did they put in it?

I guess they replaced it with what was used in the 2007-2008 convertibles. I really don't care for the way it looks, I liked my old stereo! My husband suggested I look for someone getting rid of the stock radio but I don't want to go through the trouble of installing it. I had a hard time getting the radio back in when I installed the parrot bluetooth unit.
