I just installed this in my R56 but the prices for your 03 should be about the same. I bought a refurbished Nuvi 350 on ebay for $200 and the installation kit from Classic Mini for $140. Took about 1 hour to install.

My wife and I both had the after market bracket installed in our Minis and share a Garmin 360 bought on Ebay. The dealer wanted $750 for the installed bracket and Garmin. Our cost was a little over $400 for brackeet installation (1 unit) and Garmin (i unit)

 

are you talking about the stock navigation system? that gos in the speedo??

i wish i could afford to do this...not sure how much it would cost aftermarker to do... but it wont be cheap!
