Navigation & Audio Adding Backup Camera to Nav
Adding Backup Camera to Nav
I decided not to add the PDC to my on-order Clubman because I didn't want the funny-looking bumper and it is a MINI after all. However, it will be my wife's car, and she just backed into a curb while driving my car
. So now I am wondering if it is possible to just add the back-up camera and have it tied into the NAV screen like it would have been if I had ordered it in the first place - is it pre-wired with the NAV, or did I blow it by not ordering it originally?
Thanks

There is no OEM backup camera for 2nd gen Nav. MINI did have a backup camera for the 1st gen Nav (I have one) but not many were sold and it is unlikely they will offer one for 2nd gen. Mikeythemini of newministuff.com announced camera systems that connect to the 2nd gen Nav but he hasn't posted updates: http://www.mini2.com/forum/2nd-gen-i...ht-vision.html
Or you can install an aftermarket camera like lacning74, although it wouldn't be tied to the Nav screen: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=141027
On the R56, the PDC sensors are in the bottom black trim (not in the bumper itself) and look quite discreet to me. Isn't it similar in the Clubman?
