Alternate Deck Location

Alright, im set on changing the location of my headunit, and ive seen these in mags, but has anybody done this mod? Whats involved? I know ill have to move, modify, fab brackets, but i really want to mount a larger unit in the switch/ climate control lineup. Any ideas?

Here is something I remember reading a while ago:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...it+lower+mount

Probably not the exact thing you want to do, but you could check out the OP's pics and try to contact them.

I think he even kept the stock HU and put a 7in screen in there among the climate control and switches.

I should also mention that once you take the side pillars off it is really evident how everything pulls out. The HU, climate control, and switches are all separate pods that can be unscrewed and removed. I know for sure the HU and the climate control have wire harnesses that can be removed. (never got below the climate control, but I would assume the switches have a removeable wiring harness too)

After getting everything removed, I would guess it would just be a matter of figuring out how to remount everything and if the wires from the OEM stuff will stretch to the new location.
