Custom Homelink Hookup?
Having recently moved, I need two remote controls to open two separate gates. Not wanting to spend $466+ on a MINI Mirror with Homelink I decided to attempt a cheaper route.
I purchased a used BMW homelink module of off Ebay and going to try to mount it discretely in the car (05 MCc). Has anyone done this? Have any tips? Seen it done on other cars?

is this a BMW mirror? I looked into doing this....problem was I couldn't tell if the mount was the same and the ebay seller was unwilling to help by snapping a pic for me.
the MINI is prewired in the headliner. All you really need is 12V constant, 12V switched and ground (which you can steal from other places).

This is what I got:

No headliner in the vert, so don't think it will fit there. I am thinking if it's small enough of cutting it into a down tube. Pimp style.

You can mount the Homelink in the panel that holds your sunroof switch by the mirror. Someone else posted about it a while back.
What you have bought are the guts out of a homelink equipped sunvisor. They are available on fleaBay. Just buy a Homelink visor remove the guts & you're good to go.

most have four (mirrors are dimming type). it must have non-volatile memory then to remember your code. You want it to not be in use when the car is off, so that means the switched lead and the ground if 2 wire.
