Anyone using the new 2008 Navtech Map disc having any problems with it?

My 2007 disc never had this issue, but the 2008 disc crashes every few weeks. By "crashes" I mean, in the middle of navigating somewhere, the system will first hang for about 2 mintues (can't move cursor or anything), and then it resets and reboots (the big mini logo shows up as if I just turned on the car). The car keeps running fine, it just seems like the computer gets "stuck" and then re-boots itself.

This has occured to me 3 or 4 times in the past month. The previous 8 months with the 2007 disc in, it had not occurred.

Has anyone else seen this problem?

 

Perhaps you received a defective disc?--or perhaps it's scratched?

When was the new version released, where did you get it, and how much did you pay?

 

I noticed the Navteq website still doesn't list anything newer than 2006 for the Minis. Is the 2008 update you got the one for the BMW? Mabye it really isn't compatible.

I would try Navteq and see if you can get a replacement disc to make sure it's not just a defective disc.

 

Maybe it's MINI's way of getting back at you.

 

Did you switch back to the 2007 disc or have you found another fix for this problem?
