Series or parallel?
Hi Guys,
I have a 4 channel amp to power 6 speakers, all of which are 4ohm. The rear 2 speakers are hooked up to 2 of the channels. 4 ohm speakers, 4 ohm load.
The FRONT 4 speakers will be connected to the remaining 2 channels. So the question is, what's the best way to wire them up to get an even soundstage front to rear? As I understand it, if I wire in series, I'll have a 16ohm load. IF I wire in parallel, I'll have a 2 ohm load.
Which way is best? Again ideally I want to have even volume between the 6 speakers. My receiver can handle a 2ohm load, but I don't know if it's a problem having 2 channels with a 2 ohm load and 2 with a 4ohm load.
thanks!
Andrew
