I just spoke to an installer about upgrading the speakers in my 2008 MCS, which has the "hi-fi" stereo. I told him I wanted excellent sound, but I didn't want to spend the money for awesome sound.

He recommended JL TR650 CSI speakers for the front, and Pioneer TS D901P speakers in the back.

Are these speakers in line with what I asked for?

I just put the same JL's in the front but also with the R. Fosgate Clean Sweep and Boston Amp. The sound will make your ears bleed

Others have recommended not doing the backs...

 

My plan is to do the front & back speakers and see if it is acceptable. If not, I guess I need to look into a Clean Sweep. He mentioned that a Clean Sweep might be required to upgrade the amp; is this so?
