iPod/Bluetooth problem

I tried out my 'convenience' package iPod/bluetooth -- I connected the iPod to the adapter end and the pointed part into the headphone hole on the iPod - so it was hooked up two ways. Turned the hifi to the iPod icon, the audible list came up - we selected our book to hear and then.........NOTHING! What did I do wrong? Volume was turned up............nothing. Help! I just don't know what to try next - probably something really simple but I missed that really simple step. Thanks folks

the 1/8" audio jack goes into your aux. port in your mini.... the usb pulls the titles and the aux. plays the music.... both have to be hooked up for you to play your ipod

So the audio jack has to be plugged in also next to the 'other' in that tiny little area? Sorry, but I'm really new at this......just want to be sure I'm going in the right direction. Thanks again.

no prob.... ya the usb has to be plugged in to your mini, and the 1/8" male stereo plug into the aux. to your mini.... then plug the ipod into the dock connector and you should be golden.... so 2 connections to your mini and one to your ipod. ( the aux. female plug should be next to the usb. in your mini. )
