Harmon Kardon SPEED Adjustments?

So I'm not understanding how to set up the radio so that the volume adjusts automatically with speed.

The book says to hold down the 'music symbol' key for a while and then press it briefly until the display reads SPEED, and then make the adjustment.

Problem is, it goes to NAVI then to RESET? and never displays SPEED. But I have the upgraded system, etc.

Anyone know what's going on there?

Much thanks.

Biscuit.

The auto volume function does not work on the HK.
Not that they tell you that anywhere.

There is a speed adjustment in place, though you can't modify it the manual states. Check out Ian's page on the H/K for info. http://www.gbmini.net/wp/2004/08/har...n_information/

Ah, got it. That is random, but makes much more sense now. Thanks!

Funny, I was playing with this feature (or lack thereof) last week... I think there was some range setting from 0 to 9 or something like that; it didn't do anything though so far as I can tell. I like the music at a steady volume anyway... why lower it automatically? oh well.

omg this thread is the best. i bought a used 2003 MCS w/HK and the passenger side door rattle has been driving me to the brink of madness. i thought it was a blown speaker but this explains it:

glad it's an easy (and cheap) fix.
