Navigation & Audio Need Help With Steering Wheel Interface
Need Help With Steering Wheel Interface
I have a 2005 MCS which originally came with the HK system. I recently had a reputable audio installer install a Kenwood head unit. They have tried two different steering wheel interfaces and one that works similar to a remote control but nothing seems to work. The LED light on the interface comes on as though it is getting a signal from the steering wheel controls but the signal is not getting to the head unit.
I know there has to be a number of you that have swapped out the head unit. What is the solution here?

Check with MikeyTheMINI to see if he has something you can use:

Out of curiosity, does your headunit completely bypass the HK amp, or still use it through something like the HK Enabler?

Yes, the new head unit allows me to use an RCA cable to directly link my Kenwood HU to my XTANT amp. What a difference in sound quality!! It helps to have the Morel speakers up front and use the rears as subwoofers.
