Need alternate mounting solution for XPress SIRIUS unit.
I have this Xact (not Xpress - sorry) Sirius unit, which works great:

Unfortunately, the window suction-mount system for this unit TOTALLY BLOWS and I need an alternate mounting solution.

I know lots of people like the fit and finish of the Panavise unit:

However I have the cup holder that mounts at that spot, and I plan to keep it, so I'm in the market for an alternative.
An ideal solution would attach to the bottom of the OEM switch panel or possibly that can be slid between the climate control box and the switch panel and then tilt up at a 90-degree or more angle, allowing me to mount the quick-release bracket from off of the suction mount (it comes off) to the plate with screws.
Does anyone know of something like this, or do you think I'll have to fabricate something?

Well, they don't even list Xact as a brand they support, so I'd have to say the odds are slim...
I'm going to try fabricating something out of brass sheet and rubber tool dip, I guess.
EDIT: They have THIS ONE, which clips to the down-tube...

Problem is, it puts the device underneath the cup holder, which can drip liquid. Looks like the horizontal device might foul the lower cup-holder as well. Sub-optimal at best, but it IS an alternative if I can't get my fabricated idea to fly...
Thanks for that site!

That looks promising... I bet I can put that either in the wire cup holder or one of the ones under to console, even. If my home-brew solution doesn't work, that looks like the top of the list - thanks!

If it's not a perfect fit trim the plastic tab off the tuneDok and put some heavy duty velcro in it.

No sweat. I had one for my ipod in 2003, before I bought the IceLink. It worked pretty good in the lower cup holders. No big side mount cup holder for me. not even the MiniFini, so I had it under the toggles. Like I said it worked pretty well. you have the ability to change the height and angle. I just remember that they started making these for other things as well. So I checked and there you have it. It's not for the one unit you posted but it's worth looking into. Check on ebay as well, they are running $10-15.
