iPod interface AND aux input possible?

I just bought an '06 MC and the dealer agreed to install the OEM iPod interface later this week as part of my purchase. I haven't seen the actual iPod kit, so I don't know how it connects to the back of the Boost stereo.

My question is...can one have both the iPod adapter and still install an aux input port in addition? Will the factory stereo permit having both or do they use the same port? I'd like to have the option of plugging in the iPod as well as other devices to play through the stereo.

I did a search on the forum and couldn't find an answer.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

No. They both connect to the same plug on the back of the radio, so you have to choose between the AUX and the iPod. Can't have both.

Not true - the AUX and DICE use different connectors so both can be utilized.

The DICE has a built in AUX port, an additional AUX port would not be needed.

Same here - I have the factory iPod interface and the factory AUX input on my '06, and they both work fine.

The factory iPod interface uses the same radio connection **as the CD changer**, so you can't have both the iPod interface and a changer, but there's no problem having both the factory iPod interface and the AUX input.

Tom:

Any news on the DICE updates for the 3G Nano and/or the stealth antenna on the unit with HD Radio? I'm waiting as patiently as possible to place my order. Not having my tunes is a bummer.

Thanks,
Lee
