Help! Aux won't play right.

Okay, maybe I'm missing something basic.

I was able to plug in the outmotoring aux cable into the back of my headunit. I plug in the ipod and scroll through the "modes" on the headunit but it's not recognizing an aux. I can hear the iPod playing through the radio or the CD, but the radio or CD is also playing! I'm sure this is something dumb, but what am I doing wrong!?

okay, another question then.... How does yours work once the cable is plugged in? should I be able to just change the 'mode' to aux??

Okay, I'm so embarrassed to post this! I must have had a massive brain fart. The aux plug wasn't all the way in and the music I was hearing was coming from the headphones! whoops!

anyway - I got it working.
