Multiple phones synched?

Just got my MINI (will introduce once I get photos uploaded)

I read thru the Bluetooth manual - but still have questions. Apparently you can have 4 phones loaded to synch. What happens if 2 or more are in the car at one time? Will we have to constantly toggle each phone's bluetooth on/off before getting to the car in order to manage which one is recognized?

I tried searching ~ hope it hasn't been answered 500 times before.
Thanks!

Most people can't even get 1 phone to work with MINI's funky Bluetooth implementation. If you can get 2 different phones to pair, the Bluetooth module will bond with whichever phone that it first sees, upon starting the car. So, if you get in the car with two previously paired phones, it will bond with one or the other, not both. My X5 does this all the time, as my Treo & my wife's RAZR are both paired. When we are in the X5 together, the RAZR always pairs with the X5, probably because Palm's software engineers have about as much talent as BMW's software engineers (read-none)

when you have two phones in your "paired phones" list, I think I remember seeing an option of "ordering" the phones, so you decide which one takes precidence. I could be mistaken though, I'm gong off memory when I tried this a few weeks ago..... weeks are like decades in my head lately!!

My wife and I commute together daily and have our phones both paired. There is an option the BT setup that allows you to set which phone has priority if both are detected. Both phones can receive incoming calls, provided the other is not on the phone at the time.
