iPod installation probs. Huuuuuuuuff...

Well, I didn't install it so unfortunately i can't get into details about what was done and what wasn't but here's the problems i'm having- maybe you know what's going on?

first off, my friend told me there was no place for the violet/blue wire to go and he was thinking that was the wire that cut the radio off when you turned the car off. i know that the jacks were missing and he had to splice everything in...

so, yeah, the radio has to be manually turned off each time i leave the car. and the ipod if left on the adaptor will continue to charge even past the 30 minute mark.

the ipod isn't working now, it just reads " no magazine" when i switch modes. i can't even turn the ipod OFF when its unplugged to reset it. its a nano, btw.

when it WAS working, i couldn't advance tracks.

now, with a CD in, it will just turn off after about 6 or so tracks.

....so, i've made a very scientific conclusion that there must be a ghost inside of my headunit and/or car.

what do YOU think it may be?

thanks!

No ghost, the live wire is not connected so the radio does not know the car on or off. The radio is designed to run with the car off for about 30 min and then automatically shut off which is what it is doing as it thinks the car is off. Basically, whomever hooked the radio didn't do a very good job.

yeah, apparently installing audio the night before you leave to Thailand isn't the best time to do it.

but no one ever takes my advice
