Rockford Fosgate 360.2 mini review
Yesterday I had a RF 360.2 signal processor installed in my MINI. It replaced the scosche hi-low converter I was using. I also swapped out my BA 10" sub for a RF PS3 10" sub.
The 360.2 gives ALOT of control over your sound system. You must have a bluetooth capable Palm or Pocket PC to be able to set it up. There is a software program that is extremely user friendly that you use to set up each individual speaker (FR, FL, RR, RL, Center & Sub). There is also a remote (wired) volume **** that you can use for the whole system or just the sub (which is what I've done).
It has 6 high level inputs, 6 RCA level inputs, and 6 RCA outputs.
You can use only 2 of the inputs and still get 6 outputs.
When you first set it up you go through a calibration routine where you play a cd of test tones and the 360.2 flattens the frequency response of the signal coming from your head unit. It'll show you the before and after freq curves - there were some major adjustments made.
Adjustments you can make:
Equalizer for each speaker set - some ungodly number like 32 bands for each.
Allows you to fine tune the signal to each speaker.
Crossovers for each speaker set.
Allows you to set upper and/or lower freq limits for each speaker.
Time delays for front and rear speakers sets.
Allows you to center the soundstage in front of you.
The only two things I would like to see that it didn't have are phase correction and some effects like concert hall.
Overall there has been a significant improvement in the volume/sound quality/soundstage.
You can save different setups to different file names and load them for specific purposes. I've set up 3 profiles so far - one that makes the music best for the drivers position, one for the passenger position, and one that is a balance for when two people are in the car.
This item is a great albeit expensive solution to be able to get great sound quality in your MINI with aftermarket amps and speakers.
I'm quite happy with my system. (I was before but even more so now)
p.s. Anyone want to buy a scosche signal converter or Boston Acoustics 10" sub?

it's not really that big. It is mounted just above the stock amp in the passenger side rear.
