Need help with blown fuse

I was installing an Alpine deck in my 02 Cooper and ran into trouble when I was hooking up the 12V switched lead to the fuse panel (I have since read here that I didn't need to run to the fuse panel but its too late now). I shorted something out (I saw a spark) and now I have no power to the head unit. I tried the factory deck and it will not power up either. I checked every fuse in the kick panel under the drivers dash and the panel in the engine compartment, but they are all good. Everything electrical in the car seems to work except the head unit. I do not appear to have 12V at the stereo connector.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Bryan

Yes I checked the fuse on the back of the head unit. That was one of the reasons that I tried the stock head unit again (and I checked the rear fuses on both decks).

Have you replaced the radio fuse? Sometimes they look ok, but are still blown.

Yes, I checked the fuse with an OHM meter.

Does anyone know if another fuse exists somewhere other than the kick panel under the drivers dash and the panel in the engine compartment?

Re: Need help with blown fuse

I traced down the 12V with my meter and I have switched 12V at the connector, but not 12V to the battery??? The cigarette lighter right below has 12V but I have lost it somewhere in the dash.

I am considering buying the shop manual to have the schematic diagrams
to help trace it out. I also looked at a CD on ebay that contains the MINI shop manual that is much cheaper. Anyone else have one of these that can make a recommendation?

Thanks, Bryan
