Removing Viper alarm system?

I have a 87 Porsche 911 Targa that I acquired in a trade for another car. It has a Viper Excalibur alarm on it which is extremely annoying and I would like to remove it. It arms itself all the time and goes off all the time as well as disables the ignition.

How difficult is it to remove an alarm and does anybody know anything about this particular one?

Thanks,
K

Actually, it's quite simple to kill the alarm. You need to find the brain for it, shouldn't be to hard as there will be a lot of wires running to it. Near the brain there will be an inline fuse holder. Remove the fuse on the red line and that will disconnect power to the alarm. At this point everything should revert back to normal on the car. From here you can just trace all the wires down and cut them loose and tape up the ends. The only wire you should have to put back together will be the starter kill line as it had to be cut in half to install the alarm. More often than not the alarm brain will be up underneath the driver's side of the dash.

Depends on how it was wired. If wired per Viper's instructions then no, it will not kill the car. If wired by an installer that actually wanted the alarm to be effective then yes the car will not start after pulling the fuse.

How's that for a perfectly non-answer answer?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but this is the one I found with a Google search and I thought it made sense to piggyback on it rather than start a whole new thread. Hopefully that doesn't break any forum etiquette.

Anyway, I have a Viper C70HF. Yes, it's old. About 13 years old to be exact. And it's been acting up for a while. Would this inline fuse removal work on it as well? I looked under the dash and there appears to be 3 inline fuses. Should I pull them all? Thanks ahead of time.
