How can I tell?

I'm new to the whole Mini scene and money is kind of tight. How can I tell if my stock head unit has the aux input? The stamp on the door jam says a build date of 08/03 but I have no idea on the head unit. Also where can I find the accessories for the hookup. I don't have the money for the dice system, I'm looking for something on the cheap side. Also how hard is it to install and what are all the pieces I am going to need?

Thanks so much for your help, I love this car already and am hooked!

You've got the input already. What you need is the cable that goes from the header to a stereo jack.

Do you have any suggestions on where to find a mounting system for the IPOD? I don't want it in the glove box, I would prefer somewhere next to the driver if possible. Thanks for the info though, I just ordered one!

There's the Belkin TuneDok or Griffin's TuneFlex There are slightly cheaper places to buy it I have found if you look around.

Thanks everyone, I went to the Mini dealership and picked up the aux cable and amazingly installed it without removing anything from the car. Yes I have some skinny little arms! And I went ahead and ordered the tunedok off of EBAY. Ordered a black one to go with the black Nano. Now I just need to find a tiny male to male black headphone cord.
