Lessons learned over time?
Back in November 2004 I purchased Cartune for my MC. Went through the steps to send in to Franz and then receive back the retuned files but then got nervous and never actually applied the ECU retune.
Well, not the car has many more miles on the clock and I am rethinking about actually applying the upgrade.
Are there any gotcha's that have been uncovered in the past 14 months that I shoud be aware of, whether they actually be with the MTH code, OS compatibility issues, etc. I notice that there are now several different variants of the retune available.

Hi there!
MTH has grown quite a bit since November 2004.
You probably have the MTH Standard version. If you're looking for more power and lower RPM torque, I'd suggest you get the "new" MTH Tuner version file.
There is probably a newer version of CarTune available also. You can run CarTune on almost any Windows versions. But make sure to configure your COM port settings and disable all the background tasks (antivirus, wireless, ...), turn off all lights on the car (inside and outside), and turn off any cell phones around the car, since it might make interferances with the cable and OBDII port... (I've never done this, but many people believe it can do bad things to transfers)
Now, get your MINI the MTH file ASAP, and start enjoying the real MINI driving experience!
